BACH on Guitar 2

The 28th solo album is the second installment of the collection of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, known as the father of music: BACH on Guitar 2.

This CD features four works from Bach’s precious lute repertoire: the three major suites (commonly known as the Lute Suites) – Suite in A minor (original key: G minor) BWV 995, Suite in E minor BWV 996, and Suite in A minor (original key: C minor) BWV 997 – along with the Prelude in D minor (original key: C minor) BWV 999.

Though not originally composed for classical guitar, these pieces share significant commonalities with the lute in terms of tuning, playing techniques, etc., making them a valuable repertoire for guitarists. We have strived to approach Bach’s “style” as closely as possible, carefully considering Baroque aesthetics, dance characteristics, articulation, and more, through trial and error, aiming to make these works feel as though they were written for the guitar.

We hope you will feel the spirit of Bach residing within the classical guitar.
